Important Updates
Post Oak lawsuit, sewage plans-
The defendants’ lawyers have asked the judge to reconsider her ruling. Our lawyers will respond. NCA volunteers have begun monitoring their future plans for sewerage – the critical legal issue. Stay tuned.
Growth Plan-
The Town of Farragut is set to consider its position on the County Mayor’s proposed amendment (to eliminate the Plan and revise the General Plan) tomorrow evening. It has been reported that the Mayor’s staff have been lobbying the Farragut Board of Aldermen. We will post here as we learn more about these very important Growth Plan proceedings.
Hillsides, rural areas-
Many thanks to the volunteers who attended the County Commission meeting last night (and previously), monitored and spoke to several important issues. At this point, Commissioners have kept the slopes and hillside protections unchanged and also kept rural areas protected. Thank you, Commissioners!
Sidewalks –
Developers have asked for relief from the requirement to provide connecting sidewalks for their new projects. We have let our Commissioners know we oppose that proposal. Walking, connectivity are important quality of life issues in our county.
Greenways-
(incl.Northshore Corridor) is a large complex proposal in the early stages. We plan to continue to monitor that along with the Northshore traffic study.
Please stay tuned.
